Do you sell e-bikes with mid-drive motors?

Edited

Electric Bike Company specializes in high-quality rear hub motors and does not offer mid-drive motors in our e-bike models. Our rear hub motors come with a 10-year warranty and are specifically chosen for their efficiency and effectiveness, especially in configurations that utilize a throttle and higher watt output. Motor Specifications:

  • Type: Rear Hub Motor

  • Warranty: 10 Years

  • Power: Optimized for configurations up to 750 watts, providing robust performance and power.

  • Efficiency: Specifically designed to excel in throttle use and higher power outputs.

  • Maintenance: Offers ease of maintenance compared to mid-drive systems.

Mid-drive motors, commonly used in Europe, are designed for lower power outputs (typically up to 250 watts) and are typically used without a throttle. They are favored in European markets primarily due to these power restrictions and their efficiency in pedal-assist-only modes, where torque is a crucial factor. However, in the USA, the regulations allow for e-bikes to have up to 750-watt power output and the use of a full throttle. Under these conditions, rear hub motors are a superior option for American riders, offering better performance and power for both pedal-assist and throttle use. Additionally, it's important to note that mid-drive motors are generally more expensive – almost 5 times more than hub motors. They also tend to incur higher costs in maintenance and repair. Considering these factors, Electric Bike Company has chosen to focus on rear hub motors to provide our customers with a more cost-effective, powerful, and reliable e-bike experience.
